The discipline development of the institute has been improved by expanding cooperators and channels, undertaking various international cooperation projects, and introducing positively foreign intellectual resources. The institute has established the cooperative relations with more than 50 research institutes from over 30 countries and regions such as the United States, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Japan, Poland, Mongolia and Uruguay, etc. The researchers up to 180 “person times” visited 23 countries and regions and foreign experts and scholars up to 420 “person times” were invited to give lectures, make academic exchanges and participate in collaborative research. 7 international conferences had been organized including "International Conference on Grassland Resources". A new situation from "participation" to "leading" is emerging in international cooperation.
